Hey everyone! Hope you had as good of a week as we did. It was a party! Everything was prime, except for the weather, but what are you going to do? Lets get started:
So this week one of our flat mates, Elder Sherlock, went home due to his injury. So we got a new missionary in the BORO. His name is Elder Shillabeer from Kent, England. He is a good guy and actually served a part of his mission in Fresno California. I know... poor soul. It's good to have the other team back up and working!
It was kind of an unfortunate week in that we had three of our investigators drop us! It was one after the other as well. It just means that we have more time to find those who have been prepared. We still have a couple very solid investigators we are working with. S., one of our Kurdish friends, is working really hard at understanding the gospel. He has told us that he feels it's true but he wants to understand everything we tell him. He can't read English very well so he tries to listen to it and read it at the same time to get all he can out of it. I just love teaching him. He is so prepared to receive the gospel.
Our main man B. was baptized this week. He was so excited for it. It was a pretty insane service though. So a big emphasis in our mission is making our baptismal programs and services amazing. So we were working throughout the week to make both quality. But on the day of the baptism we go to print out the program and apparently all of the files we had were corrupted. Even the back up ones! Right when we found this out, the person who was supposed to baptize B. told us that he couldn't do it. So with only a couple hours till the baptism, we had to rush to the chapel. We got there and tried to work with a different computer to finish the program but it just wasn't cooperating. So we basically had to print out a last minute program. Needless to say, it wasn't the best. After that, B. was 45 minutes late to his own baptism. Don't ask me how because I still am not sure. Along with a few other things that happened, those few hours leading up to the baptism were just insane. But its all happy endings as B. did end up showing up and was baptized! It was great and the ward was supportive. Overall it was a great week and the baptism was the highlight!
Well I hope everyone has a great week! Love you all!
Elder Walter
