Hello. My name is Elder Walter. And I would like to share with you this most amazing book.
The work this week was better then a late night breakfast meal at Dennys! IT was BOMB! It has been a really busy week but we were able to fit in a couple miracles and still get everything done. We were able to find a lot of new people to teach. We knocked into a guy named S. At first he told us he was an atheist. BUT as time went on he started to become a believer until eventually he desired to be baptised. So that was a cool transformation. We were able to meet with M and set some really specific goals for him to get baptised in August. We had a powerful lesson where his friend, who is a recent convert, bore testimony of how the gospel has blessed him. "It is the best decision I have ever made."
We are still working with our long-time investigator S. The other day we were doing a faith experiment with him. We put an unravelled tea bag (shaped like a column) on his hand and light it on fire. Right when it was about to burn his hand it was supposed to fly away... its really cool. But this time when it went to the bottom it didn't rise and it just burned his hand. I felt really bad but now we have a good laugh about it.We have a good relationship with him and his wife so hopefully he will be baptised... sooner than later.
This week I was also able to visit William (The convert in my last area). He is doing great. He has a picture of me and Elder Hultgren at the baptism in his house now. haha. He will also be getting the priesthood which is fantastic!!!
We met our new President this week. He is a great man. You can just feel his love as he speaks to you. His name is President Turvey and he is from the South of England. You can tell that he is called by the Lord and is ready to get to work. It seems like a really difficult task to take over the mission but he and his wife are settling in great. They are already trusted and loved by all of the missionaries so I expect great things in his time as a mission president.
So transfers came and went and Elder Iakopo and I will be staying as companions in Beverley. We are excited for another transfer together and see our friends progress! Transfer time is often sad because friends go home but it’s also a time to welcome new missionaries. Half of the zone this next transfer is training. It’s going to be fun haha.
Happy 4th of July everyone! Hope that it’s enjoyable. Love ya!
