Working hard or hardly working?

So we are continuing to see some great things happen in Beverley. We were knocking this street the other day and found this man named P. He was a former investigator and he told us that he is ready to sort out his baptism and pay his tithing... that's not something you hear every day. We were able to set a return appointment with him. We went by and set some goals with him to quit smoking and get baptized hopefully in the middle of next month.We are still working with a few part members and are finally starting to see some movement. S. and M. came to church and enjoyed it as usual. The ward is doing really well at fellow-shipping them.

This week we had some fun finding. One day we decided that Elder Iakopo would not speak English. He would speak broken English as if he was straight from Samoa. It was great! He pulled it off so well, in fact, that for a while I thought he really couldn't speak English. It was really funny to see how people treated him when they thought he couldn't speak English. Some success came from it and by the end of the conversation he miraculously could speak English again. Its great to have a laugh with people at the door.

Since I have been in England I have seen what the purpose of life is... "Now is the time for men to prepare to meet God." This entails quite a lot but can be summed up in one word... Charity.

I was reading in 1 Corinthians 13 and 14 where it talks about charity. Without Charity we are nothing. We need to help those around us, it is the only way to be happy. This gospel gives people the chance to find that purpose in their lives and we would do well to have enough charity to share it with those around us.
